Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti

The Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) announced Wednesday the seizure of a significant cache of weapons following a major security operation conducted in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Port-au-Prince.

According to a press release issued by the Police Communication Directorate (DICOP), the operation took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the stronghold of the Jamesley gang. The intervention targeted armed groups described by authorities as engaging in terrorist-style activities in the area.

The operation, carried out with the support of a specialized Task Force, resulted in the confiscation of a wide array of weapons and military-grade equipment, including firearms, ammunition, and a drone. Several gang members affiliated with the Jamesley group were also neutralized during the operation, the PNH said.

Police officials stated that the recovered arsenal has been formally registered and certified by the Armament Service of the PNH Logistics Directorate, in accordance with established procedures.

In its statement, the PNH reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling armed groups, eradicating violence, and restoring security across the country.

Bel-Air has been one of several neighborhoods in the capital affected by persistent gang-related violence, as Haitian authorities continue efforts to reassert state control and public order.
