Port-au-Prince, Haiti — The Governor of the Banque de la République d’Haïti (BRH), Gabriel Ronald, has been reappointed to the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) for the 2025–2027 term.
The decision was ratified on September 3, 2025, during the AFI Annual General Assembly held in Namibia, which brought together central bank governors and financial regulators from across the Global South.
The renewed mandate reinforces Haiti’s continued engagement in international policy discussions on financial inclusion, digital finance, and cooperation among monetary authorities. Through its representation on the AFI Board, the BRH remains involved in shaping strategic directions aimed at expanding access to financial services, particularly for underserved populations.
AFI is a global network of central banks and financial institutions focused on advancing inclusive financial systems as a foundation for sustainable economic development. Haiti has maintained membership in the organization for several years, using the platform to exchange policy experience and technical expertise with peer institutions worldwide.
The reappointment places the BRH at the center of AFI’s governance during a period when financial inclusion, monetary stability, and institutional resilience remain critical challenges for developing economies.
