Israel and Morocco have signed a joint military work plan extending through 2026, formalizing a new phase of defense cooperation as the two countries mark five years since restoring diplomatic relations under the Abraham Accords.

The agreement institutionalizes ongoing military coordination and is aimed at strengthening bilateral security ties across multiple domains. Officials from both countries describe the plan as a strategic framework designed to guide cooperation over the next two years, with a focus on modernization, interoperability, and regional stability.

Under the work plan, Morocco is expected to receive advanced updates to its defense capabilities, particularly in air defense systems, reconnaissance technologies, and artillery development. The cooperation reflects Israel’s expanding defense footprint in Africa and Morocco’s effort to modernize its armed forces amid evolving regional security dynamics.

Strategically, the partnership positions Morocco as a more capable regional actor while giving Israel a deeper operational and diplomatic presence in North Africa. Analysts note that the agreement aligns with broader security realignments following the Abraham Accords, which have reshaped military and diplomatic relationships across the Middle East and beyond.

The signing underscores the durability of Israel–Morocco relations since their normalization in 2020 and signals continued momentum in defense and security collaboration moving forward.
