Federal authorities have arrested 19-year-old Armani Cherenfant in Miami following an FBI-led investigation into an alleged organized fraud operation operating under the guise of a banking call center, according to law enforcement officials.
Cherenfant, who publicly presented himself as a content creator, is alleged by authorities to have been associated with the violent ABK gang. Investigators say the operation was run from a short-term rental property, where suspects allegedly impersonated banking institutions to deceive victims and obtain financial information.
Law enforcement officials report that the residence had been converted into a fully functioning fraudulent call center equipped with computers, phones, and other electronic devices used to carry out the scheme. The investigation resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of firearms and digital evidence.
The FBI, working in coordination with local and state agencies, described the case as part of a broader crackdown on organized cyber-enabled fraud networks, which increasingly recruit young individuals and exploit social media, technology, and promises of quick financial gain.
Community leaders note that cases such as this have renewed discussions within the Haitian community and other affected communities about the need for stronger youth mentorship, economic opportunity, and preventive social programs to counter recruitment into criminal networks.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities emphasize that all individuals involved are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
