The director general has disclosed that significant public funds have been disbursed for multiple state-led projects across the country, yet no visible progress has been observed at the designated sites.
According to the official, 160 million gourdes were allocated to an agricultural development project in Belladère. An additional 80 million gourdes were reportedly disbursed for construction and rehabilitation work at the Champ-de-Mars military base, while 50 million gourdes were allocated to the Bicentennial Base.
Despite these substantial financial allocations, the director general stated that inspections and assessments have revealed no visible impact, structural advancement, or measurable progress at any of the cited locations.
The disclosure raises renewed concerns about public fund management, oversight mechanisms, and accountability within state-run projects, particularly at a time when infrastructure investment is critical to national stability and development.
As of publication, no detailed breakdown of expenditures, contractor identities, or implementation timelines has been publicly released. Calls for audits and independent verification are growing amid mounting public pressure for transparency in the use of state resources.
