PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – The Fondation Haiti Jazz has officially announced the 19th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Port-au-Prince (PAPJAZZ), confirming the event will run from January 7-10, 2026, at a press conference held Thursday at the Karibe Hotel.

Organizers emphasized the deliberate return to the festival’s traditional January calendar, framing it as both a cultural statement and operational commitment. Speaking before journalists and cultural stakeholders, foundation representatives stressed the critical importance of sustaining artistic spaces amid Haiti’s prolonged security crisis.

“This decision reflects our unwavering dedication to preserving artistic expression, creativity, and cultural dialogue,” officials stated. “PAPJAZZ continues to position itself as an essential platform uniting Haitian and international artists across musical styles and generations.”

The four-day festival, considered one of Haiti’s most established cultural institutions, has historically drawn global attention to the nation’s creative vitality. Foundation leaders confirmed that comprehensive planning is already underway to secure appropriate venues and safety protocols for all concerts and related activities.

While the full program and participating artist roster will be released at a later date, the announcement itself signals resilience within Haiti’s arts community. The festival’s persistence serves as a testament to the country’s continued musical excellence and its determination to maintain cultural continuity despite formidable challenges.
