The National Breaking Alliance has submitted a proposal calling for an inclusive and sovereign political transition in Haiti, scheduled to begin on February 7, 2026.

In a public declaration, the alliance stated that Haiti’s prolonged political instability, institutional erosion, and security crisis require a nationally driven transition framework. The proposal emphasizes Haitian ownership of decision-making and broad participation from political parties, civil society, and social organizations.

The alliance argues that previous transition arrangements failed to restore state legitimacy or resolve structural governance failures. Its proposal positions sovereignty and inclusion as central principles, particularly as the mandate of current transitional authorities approaches its expected conclusion.

While detailed implementation mechanisms have not yet been publicly released, the initiative adds to a growing field of competing proposals emerging ahead of the 2026 transition timeline, as elections remain delayed due to insecurity and administrative constraints.

The proposal underscores widening domestic debate over how Haiti’s next transition should be structured and who should control the process.
