The Presidential Transitional Council welcomes newly accredited diplomats as Haiti seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation with key international partners.

The President of Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), His Excellency Laurent Saint-Cyr, officially received the letters of credence of the newly appointed ambassadors of Cuba and Germany during a formal ceremony held Tuesday at the Villa d’Accueil in Port-au-Prince.
The event was attended by members of the presidential advisory body as well as the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Patrick Pelissier. During the ceremony, His Excellency Ricardo García Nápoles was formally accredited as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Haiti, alongside Her Excellency Maike Friedrichsen, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to an official statement from the Presidency, the ceremony underscored the shared commitment of both Cuba and Germany to reinforce and deepen diplomatic and cooperative relations with Haiti. The engagements emphasized partnership-based collaboration intended to benefit both nations and support Haiti during its transitional phase.
German Ambassador Maike Friedrichsen expressed strong satisfaction in assuming her diplomatic mission in Haiti and reaffirmed Germany’s readiness to work closely with Haitian authorities. She highlighted her country’s willingness to collaborate across multiple sectors, with the stated objective of contributing to national stability and long-term development.
The presentation of letters of credence formally establishes the ambassadors’ mandates and reflects continued international engagement with Haiti amid ongoing political and institutional transitions.
