Caracas, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro received a special envoy from China on Thursday at the Miraflores Presidential Palace, where both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and evaluated what officials described as a “strategic cooperation map” between the two countries.

According to official statements, the Chinese delegation conveyed a message from Chinese President Xi Jinping, reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to strengthening its comprehensive partnership with Venezuela. The discussions focused on political coordination, economic cooperation, and long-term development planning.

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also participated in the meeting, which authorities described as part of ongoing high-level exchanges aimed at deepening bilateral ties. Officials noted that both governments emphasized mutual respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.

China and Venezuela elevated their relationship to an “all-weather strategic partnership” in recent years, expanding cooperation in areas including energy, infrastructure, trade, and technology. Beijing has remained one of Caracas’s key diplomatic and economic partners amid continued international pressure and sanctions on Venezuela.

The meeting comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions, with Venezuela seeking to reinforce alliances beyond the Western hemisphere while China continues to expand its diplomatic footprint across Latin America. Venezuelan officials said further engagements and cooperation initiatives are expected to follow in the coming months.
