Terrier-Rouge, Haiti — Haitian authorities and international partners inaugurated the Saint-Pierre de Terrier-Rouge Maternal and Infantile Hospital on Tuesday, marking a major expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Haiti’s Northeast region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Presidential Counselor Fritz Alphonse Jean, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Haiti Cheng-Hao Hu, senior officials from the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), and local authorities. Officials highlighted the importance of the new facility in strengthening maternal, neonatal, and pediatric care for underserved communities.
Funded by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the modern hospital is expected to improve access to prenatal services, safe childbirth, and infant healthcare across the region. New administrators were officially installed to lead the institution during the ceremony.
Government representatives described the project as part of the Presidential Transitional Council’s broader commitment to improving access to essential public services and reinforcing sustainable healthcare delivery nationwide.
