Claims circulating online and on some media platforms suggest that former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, and Greenland are “next” in reference to future U.S. actions. As of publication, no verified transcript, official speech, policy document, or formal statement confirms such a declaration.
Trump has historically used confrontational rhetoric when addressing foreign policy issues, particularly regarding migration, trade, sanctions, and national security. During his presidency, his administration tightened sanctions on Cuba, pressured Mexico on border enforcement, criticized Colombia over drug trafficking concerns, and publicly discussed the idea of purchasing Greenland for strategic reasons. None of those positions, however, were accompanied by statements describing these countries or territories as targets of imminent military or regime-change action.
U.S. government records, archived speeches, and official briefings do not show evidence of a unified statement grouping these four entities as “next.” Analysts note that similar claims have emerged previously following partial quotes, social media commentary, or interpretations of past remarks without primary-source confirmation.
Officials from the respective countries have not issued formal responses to the circulating claim. No changes to U.S. foreign policy posture toward Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, or Greenland have been announced in connection with the allegation.
